Welcome to the web-friend.com NASCAR Wallpaper page. Nothing real fancy here on this particular page at the present time, just thumbnail images of the wallpaper. At the present time there are 5 wallpapers to choose from; I hope to add more in the near future. All images are 1024 X 768 "High Color" (16-bit) so they can be scaled down to your preference, and still look good (enlarging images tends to make them blurry). Click on the picture button - or the title - to view the image in your browser.

Dale Earnhardt " Ironhead", the "Man In Black", the "Intimidator", the "Legend", the man other racers are measured by. Black background with images of him, and his cars - both past and present. He may not win as often as he used to, but NEVER count him out - he can do more with a car than any other driver in NASCAR - (Hey, he's my favorite driver, and I am posting many other wallpapers too - so no flames Please!)

Mark Martin Dark blue background with nice promo photo in center, and images of various incarnations of the #6 car throughout the years. I really liked some of the photos I had to work with on this one, - there may be another in the near future.

Bill Elliott A true legend and gentleman in NASCAR. Dark Maroon background with several of the cars he has drive throughout the years. I developed this one for a friend (Hey Shaunna), and although I probably wouldn't have done an Elliott one this soon - I really liked how it turned out.

Jeff Gordon The hottest driver in the last 5 years on the NASCAR circuit. Black background with 'zoomed' #24 coming at you, and scattered pics of him, his wife, and his car. I knew what I wanted this to be, but it didn't turn out like I wanted, so look for another Gordon wallpaper in the near future.

Race 01 A collage of various race and crash images. I liked the way this one turned out, and plan more to the series.

Darrell Walltrip DW one of the most beloved drivers ever - in the past also one of the most hated, but always respected. A real legend in our sport. Burnt Orange background, some "cut-out" cars, and a blend of the center driver photo into this years #66 car. Not great - Not bad.

Alan Kulwicki One of the true GREATS of our sports. The entire sports world morned at his loss - Not just NASCAR fans. There is no way I could create a wallpaper worthy of this man - it's just my best shot. Alan is one of the few drivers who could run next to Dale Earnhardt - and I would have to be quiet because I liked both drivers SOO much. Maroon background, several trophy images - not a real busy wallpaper - kinda tasteful. A second wallpaper will come one once I get some old personal pictures of Alan from the ASA days scanned.

Rusty Wallace Sometimes booed, often cheered - but always a threat to win at any track - and don't EVER bet against him at Bristol. Black background, some oval cutouts. I liked some of the photos I had to work with here. I may take a shot at a second Rusty wallpaper in the future.

Jeff Burton The press talks "Jeff Gordon", they say the future is "Tony Stewart" - "Little E, Dale Earnhardt Jr." - Let me tell you folks - This young guy will be taking home checkered flags for years to come. A true talent - maybe one of the most unsung heros of NASCAR. Black background with Exide pink oval highlighting the 99 car. There will be other Burton wallpapers to follow.

Davey Allison Perhaps the most tragic of all of NASCAR families. Davey was a true champion, Daytona 500 winner, and would have gone on to win many races. In just a couple of short years tragedy ended his fathers racing career, Davey's life, and also took the life of his younger brother Clifford. We miss you Davey.

Race 5 I knew what I wanted here - so far this is as close as I've gotten. Dark Gray background - centered light gray circle with race car emerging out of it - and many other images surrounding it. Still not exactly what I was going for - but the best I've come up with so far.

Directions for downloading the wallpaper.
If you are unfamiliar with saving images from the Internet - read on. First you must pull up the wallpaper by clicking on the 'Thumbnail' small picture / button. Now wait for the image to finish loading - and with both Netscape OR Internet Explorer you can right click on the image and choose "Save Picture As ..." or "Save Image As..." or you can use the menu option to set it as your wallpaper from your browser.
If you need to 'resize' the image I suggest you download a program capable of resizing images. Several of the best that I have seen are Thumbs Plus, and IrfanView. (The Mac users should know that to save an image - you click and hold the button down.)
